This course is available to 11 and 12th grade students. Students must have taken both Child's World and Child Services 1, have passed all learning targets with a C or better in both courses, have an application on file and have instructor approval in order to enroll in the course.
Child Services 2 is the advanced level course in the Hillsboro High School Early Childhood Education Focused Program of Study. Under the supervision of the teacher, students assume management responsibilities in the Little Spartan Preschool, assist in the planning and organization of the preschool operations, participate in the marketing and business aspects of the program, and complete a senior project with an internship/mentorship directly related to a post high school interest.
This course is the second piece of the articulation agreement with Portland Community College (PCC). In order for students to earn the ECE 132 Field Study credit they must take and successfully complete the learning targets for both Child Services 1 & 2.
